About the Author

tom Bailey, 2008 One Book Author

The Grace That Keeps This World was Tom Bailey’s first novel. He is also the author of Crow Man, a collection of short stories, and A Short Story Writer’s Companion, Cotton Song, a novel, and the editor of On Writing Short Stories. He lives with his wife and three children in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, where he teaches in the creative writing program at Susquehanna University.


Awards Received: Pushcart Prize, for story "Snow Dreams"; Newhouse Award, John Gardner Foundation; fellowship in fiction, National Endowment for the Arts.
